what is learnED?
learnED is both a concept and a resource
Welcome to learnED. The concept of learnED was driven by a desire to inspire others and to emancipate education through innovation. We believe that every patient interaction in the emergency department creates a learning opportunity. We are passionate and enthusiastic about making the most of these opportunities by creating a genuine learning culture in the ED.
(Learned also means wise, and the suffix -ED stands for EDucation, EDinburgh and Emergency Department. But that didn't sound as good.)
So we created a web- and ED-based resource to try and bottle these inspiring educational moments and deliver them through a variety of methods. Check out our learnED projects in the stuffED menu above. We also have a blog which will contain some decent medical chat and also some animal facts if you're lucky. We keep our induction and medical student talks on this website too under the resourcED menu.
Finally, if you are interested in contributing to learnED please contact Jon Carter or Katy Letham (or come and find us in the ED).
See you on the shop floor!
